RAVE REVIEWS FOR PART 1 OF 'THE MOORSIDE'!

The reviews are in – and it seems we have a critical smash!

“Despite its dark backstory, The Moorside was a surprisingly hopeful drama which celebrated the strength of the human spirit, and particularly women, in the bleakest circumstances.” The Metro

“It is a tale that bears sympathetic retelling, and this it has had.” The Independent

“It perfectly captures the collective feeling of anxiety when a crime like that shakes a small community.” Radio Times

And before broadcast, Mark Lawson published THIS glowing review in The Guardian.

In 2008, a media firestorm erupted over the disappearance of nine-year-old Shannon Matthews - an apparent kidnapping which was later revealed to have been orchestrated by her mother & an accomplice. Taking these events as a backdrop, The Moorside is not so much the story of a disturbing crime, as it is the story of a community’s reaction to one - a nuanced approach which calls to mind screenwriter Neil McKay’s previous work, the BAFTA-winning Appropriate Adult, which considered the case of Fred & Rosemary West from the perspective of a defendant’s chaperone.

Sara Putt Associates are very proud to celebrate the involvement of Ben Yeates (Editor), Mark Fenn (1st AD), Tudor George (Costume Designer) & Mark Bull (2nd A.C.) in this piece of drama.
