A tragic coming of age tale

By July 10, 2015
On Sunday at 9pm you can catch the first of a two part series entitled The Outcast – adapted by Sadie Jones from her novel of the same name.

Set in post WWII Britain, 10 year old Lewis witnesses the death of his beloved mother Elizabeth (Hattie Morahan) and never fully recovers. His father (Greg Wise) is a difficult, withdrawn man and as a consequence Lewis begins to self-harm to express his grief. As he leads a destructive life and deemed a society outcast, Lewis encounters a glimmer of hope – in the shape of a young woman – but can he overcome his demons and face a reality so long buried?

George MacKay plays the title role with a supporting cast of familiar faces such as Nathaniel Parker and Jessica Brown Findlay. The Outcast also features the work of our clients Helen Ostler – 1st A.D. and Tom Hannibal – Assistant Editor.
