Based at Shepperton Studios, Sara Putt Associates is the leading independent UK agency for film & television heads of department – providing personal management and representation within feature films, TV drama and documentaries for over 30 years. Alongside the Agency, the Diary Service provides diary management and production knowledge for crew. The company also runs a scheme for trainees & assistants, nurturing new talent & providing support to those at the start of their careers. Sara Putt Associates collaborates with film & television agents in the United States whilst working alongside UK literary agency ‘Sayle Screen’.
Sara established Sara Putt Associates in 1989 and has worked here as MD and Agent ever since. Currently she is Deputy Chair of BAFTA and also sits on the BAFTA TV Committee together with the Learning, Inclusion and Talent Committee which she chaired from 2014 – 2020. In addition to being a BAFTA Trustee, Sara is also a Trustee of the Film and TV Charity, Deputy Chair of WFTV and sits on the Board of the British Film Commission. Sara has also produced a number of short films including the BAFTA nominated “Tattoo”.
Kate has worked with Sara for over 20 years helping to build up the Agency. She represents clients in both film & TV drama and has built up a steady list of great people; representing a number of departments including; 1st ADs, Editors, Costume Designers, Sound Mixers, Hair & Make-up Designers & Stunt Co-Ordinators.
After graduating university Laurily worked within the video research department at ITV, followed by a stint with a touring theatre company. While working as a junior booker at London based model agencies ‘Rage’ & ‘Ugly’, she became interested in being a talent agent. In 2009 Laurily joined Sara & Kate as an office assistant, and is now an established agent, representing experienced Heads of Department as well as technicians.
Nicola has worked in television in London and NYC for more than twenty years. She runs the Sara Putt Associates Trainee & Foundation Schemes, providing outreach and new talent development for new entrants working in craft and technical roles. Prior to joining us, Nicola worked in Development at the BBC and ran the WFTV Mentoring Scheme for mid-career women.
We’re delighted that Nia has joined the team of agents here at Sara Putt Associates. Nia brings with her a wealth of knowledge, having previously worked representing freelance crew members as a London Production Division official at BECTU. With a background in fine arts, and a strong queer identity, Nia will focus on nurturing a diverse portfolio of clients as well as emerging grades within the industry.
Kelly worked as a production runner at Pinewood, Shepperton & Leavesden before going to work for ARRI, she gained knowledge of ARRI lighting kit before moving on to the camera sales team at Visual Impact in Teddington. In addition to ensuring the smooth day to day running of the office, Kelly looks after SPA Crew members – managing general enquiries & diaries.
Brenda joined the Sara Putt team in 2012, after working for many years on productions such as; The Harry Potter’s, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, V for Vendetta and The Borrowers through companies including Cinesite and MagicCamera. With her background in Production Accounting, Brenda now heads up the Accounts Department and is responsible for all the client invoices and payments.
The newest member of the team! Nicole has a background of working within the travel industry & has always wanted to work in film & TV. She’s client focused, organised and super keen. Nicole will be overseeing the the day to day running of the office as well as being Sara’s personal assistant.
