On Sunday 20th August, the first episode of Channel 4's gripping new drama 'The State' was broadcast: directed by Peter Kosminsky, it tells the story of four young Brits who become radicalised and join ISIS in Syria. As expected due to the topic in hand, it got a huge response from critics:
“This wasn’t easy viewing but it was eye-openingly powerful… the cast were convincing, the stories compelling. This was the sort of bold programming that Channel 4 was founded for.”
– Michael Hogan, The Telegraph
“Clever, gripping, and genuinely enlightening”
– Emine Saner, The Guardian
“Peter Kosminsky’s epic drama The State taps into something many of us recognise”
– Matt Baylis, The Express
Congratulations to Simon Clark (Sound Recordist), Natasha Romanuik (1st Assistant Director) and Edward Clark (Camera/Steadicam Operator) who worked on the show!
The remaining episodes will broadcast over three consecutive nights from Monday 21st to Wednesday 23rd August on Channel 4 at 9pm: catch the first episode on All 4 here!
